Rise Up Advocacy
Rise Up Advocacy
What happens when a teacher uses proven, data-driven strategies and gets pushback for it? I’ve lived it. After seeing incredible growth in my self-contained classroom, I tried to bring those same methods to a larger group of students in the resource room. Instead of support, I was told to stop because it was different.
The truth? What helps kids grow should be embraced, not shut down. If you feel like your child’s IEP team is more focused on what’s easy for the adults than what’s effective for your child, I can help. I’ll walk you through how to use data to advocate for the services, tools, and support your child actually needs.
Let’s make sure your child’s progress—not adult comfort—is the priority.
What if your child’s classroom isn’t actually set up to support them? I’ve been there as a teacher walking into an empty room and as an advocate helping parents figure out what their child should be getting. If you're not sure your child's classroom has what they need to succeed, you’re not alone. In this video, I’m sharing what to look for, how to start asking the right questions, and how I can help you make sure your child and their teacher have the tools they need to make real progress. Let’s make sure your child gets more than just the bare minimum.
Does it feel like your child’s classroom wasn’t built with them in mind? I’ve been there as a teacher and an advocate. Too often, kids are placed in “catch-all” settings that don’t truly meet their needs.
If the placement doesn’t feel right, I can help. I ghostwrite letters that speak the school’s language while keeping your child’s needs front and center. Let’s work together to get the support your child actually needs, not just what’s convenient for the school.
In this video, I’m sharing a real story from my time in the classroom and what I’ve learned about helping families like yours advocate for better. If your child is being placed based on convenience instead of need, I can help you take action. I’ll guide you through asking the right questions, requesting meetings, and crafting emails that lead to real changes. You don’t have to settle. Let’s make sure your child is in the environment where they can truly succeed.
Have you ever walked out of an IEP meeting wondering, "Was that even legal?"
Are you confident your child is receiving the specially designed instruction they need, or are they just sitting in a study hall, struggling with classwork that’s way above their level?
